Haydn The Seasons, Wroclaw

National Forum of Music, Wroclaw

19 June 2016, 6pm

Gabrieli’s long-standing relationship with the City of Wroclaw, its wonderful festival International Festival Wratislavia Cantans and outstanding musicians has resulted in many exciting performances and recordings. The Wratislavia Cantans Oratorio Series on Winged Lion includes some of Gabrieli’s most highly praised recordings, including Berlioz Grande Messe des Morts, Mendelssohn Elijah and the Britten War Requiem.

The next instalment of this fruitful relationship is now upon us with two performances and a recording of Haydn’s paean to the natural world The Seasons. With an orchestra of over a hundred and a choir of over seventy, the ensemble is drawn from London and Wroclaw, and many European countries in between, and features Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra and National Forum of Music Choir alongside Gabrieli. Conducted by Artistic Director Paul McCreesh, the artistic line-up is crowned with a stunning cast of British soloists: Carolyn Sampson, Jeremy Ovenden and Andrew Foster-Williams.

Join us for one of our wonderfully celebratory concerts to revel in the delights of the English countryside at its most beautiful. Performances take place at St John’s Smith Square, London on 16 June 2016 and at Wroclaw’s acclaimed new concert hall National Forum of Music on 19 June 2016.

We are still fundraising to make this recording happen!
