Gabrieli is pleased to announce the release of our latest disc, A Spotless Rose, a compendium of Marian a cappella masterpieces ranging from the Renaissance to the present day, described by Paul McCreesh as ‘a collection of private meditations highlighting the key events of the Mary’s life…works intended for metaphysical reflection: for revealing and commenting on the ineffable.’  Recorded in the breathtaking acoustics of Ely Cathedral’s Lady Chapel, the recording features works by Josquin, Palestrina and Mouton, contrasted with their modern counterparts Howells, Bax, Górecki, Giles Swayne and Thomas Adès.
