Haydn’s Creation and more at the Brinkburn Festival 11.05.09
Booking now open for Gabrieli’s concerts on 5 & 12 July 2009.
Gabrieli and Paul McCreesh will make their regular appearance this summer at the Brinkburn Festival in the heart of Northumberland’s countryside with two spectacular programmes in Brinkburn Priory. On the first weekend (Sun 5 July), the Gabrieli Consort showcases a new programme of a cappella repertoire, I Heard a Voice from Heaven, which focuses on music of mourning and consolation and features Herbert Howell’s sublimely moving Requiem. The following Sunday 12 July, the Gabrieli Players are joined by Chetham’s School of Music’s Chamber Chorus for Haydn’s Creation. Soloists for this intimate performance are Rosemary Joshua, Mark Padmore and Neal Davies. Both programmes are conducted by the festival’s founder and artistic director, Paul McCreesh.
Booking for the Brinkburn Festival is open from Monday 11 May.
