Australian Tour 2019
In February 2019, Gabrieli made its long-awaited Australian debut in Melbourne and Adelaide. Over four concerts, audiences thrilled to the strains of Purcell King Arthur performed at 392Hz on instruments (and with techniques) the composer himself would have recognised.
The Sydney Morning Herald praised our Melbourne performances as ‘powerful’ and ‘spell-binding’, while Limelight Magazine noted our ‘utter confidence in the material … the overall impression was of sound shimmering in the air.’ Reviewing our Adelaide performances, Bachtrack noted the ‘delightful sparkle, colour and wit’ of Gabrieli’s concert staging, while Broadway World called the evening ‘a joy to listen to … there were so many highlights, both instrumental and vocal, that to single out individuals musicians or singers would be unfair.’
Plans are underway for our return in 2022 as part of Gabrieli’s 40th Anniversary celebrations. In the meantime, we cherish the memories…
