Funding News

We are delighted to announce that our ambitious training scheme for teenage singers, Gabrieli Roar, has been awarded thee major funding grants. The first from The Leverhulme Trust, which will support the programme over a period of three years by providing the funding to enable us to offer means-tested bursaries to one fifth of our young singers. The second from Arts Council England, helping to fund the costs of the 2016 summer programme which culminates in a high profile performance at Ely Cathedral, and the third from The Wingate Foundation for our ongoing training and mentoring programme.

We are incredibly grateful to The Leverhulme Trust, The Wingate Foundation and to the Arts Council for their support of a choral training programme that gives gifted young singers the opportunity to train and perform side-by-side with Gabrieli’s professional musicians. Gabrieli Roar asks these singers to push themselves further than they believed possible, in repertoire which they do not usually have the chance to perform. We believe that this pursuit of excellence will inspire the next generation of performers and music lovers.

Do make sure you book your tickets for the Gabrieli Roar launch concert at Southwark Cathedral on 16 February 2016 at www.ticketsource.co.uk/Gabrieli. Under 16s go FREE! For this concert Gabrieli Roar will be made up for five of our six partner youth choirs (click here for details of our partners) and will also feature our award-winning Consort in some more intimate, smaller-scale repertoire. The programme includes great choral works by Elgar, Wesley, Howells and Byrd, amongst many others.
