Messiah at the Foundling Hospital

Historian Amanda Vickery and BBC Radio 3 presenter Tom Service present a one-hour drama documentary for the BBC which recreates the first performance of Messiah at London’s Foundling Hospital in 1750 and tells the heart-rending story of how this special fundraising concert helped maintain the hospital and heralded a golden age of philanthropy.

It is fantastic to be involved in such high quality work and to see the care and attention to detail that such production teams lavish on these beautiful programmes. We will all cherish the sight of Paul’s wig for many years to come…
