Bach Feast Days: Epiphany

The feast of Epiphany has traditionally been celebrated on January 6, the date when Bach’s Cantata No. 65 was first heard in Leipzig in 1724 as part of his first cantata cycle. His Cantata No. 156 is later, initially performed on the third Sunday of Epiphany, January 23 1729.
