Join Gabrieli Roar

Hot on the heels of an intensive rehearsal and training weekend in Cambridge, culminating in a performance at Ely Cathedral with over 200 musicians, Gabrieli is busy making plans for training programmes and performances with Gabrieli Roar during 2016/17. Our packed diary includes projects of all sizes across the country, with repertoire ranging from Haydn masses and theatrical Purcell projects to Mendelssohn’s towering Symphony No.2 Lobgesang.

Gabrieli's summer

Gabrieli has enjoyed a hectic but wonderful summer of international touring, recording and performing. A whistle stop tour through everything that we have done in just these few weeks offers a snapshot of the breadth, variety and ambition of our repertoire and projects.

Gabrieli Roar at Southwark Cathedral

This week saw the official launch of Gabrieli Roar at Southwark Cathedral. On 16 February our five partner choirs were joined by the professional singers of the Gabrieli Consort to form a chorus of nearly 150 voices. The performance was a joyous example of the ability of talented young musicians to rise to the highest levels of achievement when given the correct training and support, and most importantly, the opportunity to excel.

Funding News

We are delighted to announce that our ambitious training scheme for teenage singers, Gabrieli Roar, has been awarded thee major funding grants. The first from the Leverhulme Trust, which will support the programme over a period of three years by providing the funding to enable us to offer means-tested bursaries to one fifth of our young singers. The second from Arts Council England, helping to fund the costs of the 2016 summer programme which culminates in a high profile performance at Ely Cathedral, and the third from The Wingate Trust for our ongoing training and mentoring programme.
